Joseph YuYu Lung Sang, Joseph started his wind band training at the age of 13, as a trombone player in the Po Leung Kuk No.1 College Symphonic Band. In the following year, he joined the instrumental training programme of the Music Office, under the guidance of Mr. Michael Lai. He joined the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band in 1986 and the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra in 1987. He has been, for four consecutive years since 1986, the winner of the trombone solo competition in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. In 1988, he was awarded a scholarship, admitting him to the summer music festival in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Joseph became a music major student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 1989, studying trombone with Mr. William Damron. During his study at the CUHK, he was invited as the brass instructor and assistant band conductor of the Po Leung Kuk No.1 College. He also worked as a freelance trombone player with orchestras in Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic. He became the Licentiate of the Royal School of Music (LRSM) in 1991. At the same time, he received the Associated Board Music Scholarship to study trombone at the Royal Northern College of Music between 1991 and 1993. He also took conducting as an elective subject, studying with Mr. Clark Rundell.
After his return to Hong Kong in 1993, he was quickly engaged as brass instructor and band conductor among a number of primary and secondary schools, including his alma mater. Under his guidance, the Po Leung Kuk No.1 College Symphonic Band was awarded 2nd runner-up in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in 1995, and the gold medal in the Hong Kong Band Festival in December of that same year. Joseph was awarded the Professional Performance Diploma of the Royal Northern College of Music (PPRNCM) in 1995, and became the resident conductor of the Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra in the same year.
Since 1994, Joseph has been the band director of Po Leung Kuk Lee Shing Pik College. Under his direction, the symphonic band got silver medals in the Wind Band Competition (Secondary) of both 1998 and 1999 Hong Kong Youth Band Festival organized by the Music Office. In August 1999, Mr. Yu led the symphonic band of Po Leung Kuk Lee Shing Pik College to participate in the Cheju Summer Band Festival. In December 2000, he led the same school band to take part in Chiayi Band Festival, Taiwan.
Lam Wing Tsan
Mr. Lam started his first Euphonium lesson at the age of 12. However, after a year of exploration, he focused his interest on tuba. In his secondary school years, he won lots of competitions including Tuba Solo class and Brass Concerto in the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. In 1990, he went on with his tuba studies in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), with Messrs. Jeffrey Hoard and Lee Tsarmaklis; both are former Principal of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
After finishing his second year in the CUHK, he was awarded the Jardine Matheson Scholarship by the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music of London which enabled him to study at the Royal Academy of Music for 1 year as an affiliated student, under professional guidance of the Principal Tuba of the London Symphony Orchestra, Professor Patrick Harrild.
After completing his undergraduate studies in the CUHK in 1995, Mr. Lam was awarded the Bernard Van Zuiden Music Fund for further postgraduate studies again in the Royal Academy of Music in London with Professor Patrick Harrild. In late June, Lam was awarded the DipRAM in tuba performance with distinction, and the teaching diploma LRAM. Upon his return to Hong Kong, Lam started his career as a Band Director. Lam is now the band director of Po Leung Kuk No. 1 W. H. Cheung College, Yaumatei Catholic Primary School (Hoi Wang Road) and Hong Kong Baptist Convention Primary School. Under his direction, PLK No. 1 W. H. Cheung College won the Overall Championship and Gold Prize in Hong Kong Youth Band Contest held by Music Office both in 1999 and 2001. In July 2000, PLK No. 1 W. H. Cheung College was invited to perform in an exchange concert held in ACT CITY, Hamamatsu, Japan.
In 1997, Mr. Lam gave a solo performance of Martin Ellerby's Tuba Concerto with the Festival Band in Jeju Band Festival, Korea. A year later, Mr. Lam gave a solo performance of Edward Gregson's Tuba Concerto in Sydney Opera House, Australia.
Currently, Mr. Lam is the principal tuba of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Oriental Brass. He also held brass (tuba & euphonium) teaching positions in Baptist University of Hong Kong.

Amos Lee
Amos Lee Ka Yiu started his first trumpet lesson at the age of 13 and joined his school band at Po Leung Kuk C.F.A. No.1 College, during which time he studied with Mr. Yip Yat Man and Mr. Ho Siu Wah. In 1991, he studied with Mr. Jonathan Fields (winner of the 1992 International Toulon Trumpet Competition) at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and got his Diploma there in 1993. Then after he studied with Mr. Brian Thomson, principal trumpet in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and gained his Bachelor degree of Fine Arts in 1996.
In 1994 and 95 he was accepted on trumpet by the Asian Youth Orchestra and performed in many cities and the United States. In October 1995, Amos led the Academy Brass Quintet on its trip to London to perform in the Hong Kong Festival.
In 1997 Amos was granted the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund and went to further his study with Mr. Edmund Cord at the Indiana University. Amos gained his Master of Music Degree two years later. Amos is now active in both teaching and performing in Hong Kong. Besides being involved in different projects such as The Hong Kong Arts Festival, The Macau Arts Festival, studio recording, musical productions and orchestra / band performances, Amos also appears as soloist and continuously makes performances. In 2000, Amos performed J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.2 with the Macau Chamber Orchestra.
He is now the orchestra / band director of St. Mary's Canossian College, brass tutor of PLK No.1 W. H. Cheung College.
May LamMay Lam graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1997. She was awarded the Professional Diploma in Performing Arts in 1998. Her teachers include Mr. Martin Choy, Mr. Michael Campbell and Mr. Andrew Simon. While studying at the Academy, Lam was actively involved in various performances and master classes. Upon graduation, Lam founded her own clarinet.
quartet and a woodwind quintet. She has been working as a freelance player and participated in many music performances with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Macau Chamber Orchestra and the Hong Kong Singers. In 2002, the 15th Conference of Asia and Pacific Band Directors Association, she appeared as a concert soloist, playing with the Hong Kong Young Musicians' Wind Orchestra in Guongzhou. Lam is currently a freelance player of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and a member of the Green Field Quartet and the Hong Kong Ladies' Woodwind Quintet. She is at present aclarinet instructor of Diocesan Girls' Junior School,Alliance Primary School Kowloon Tong, Po Leung Kuk No.1 WH Cheung College and Ying Wa Girls' School.
